Cloud Player, A Real Player Clone
Since the huge success of my new program the cloud player, a direct replica of the real player I was famous. The media magazines were always at my door and I was interviewed a loot in those days and my company was making serious money. I started to go on tech talk shows and for months I was in the spot light of the tech and media world. Naturally I got my raise and I was happy as a little kid at Christmas Eve. Money was flowing and life was good. I usually worked at developing patches to my program to follow the new formats that were developed every day. It was relatively easy thought because all you needed to do was to break the program into tiny bits, codes and algorithms and work form there. It’s sort of like when you repair an engine or any electronic device. You break it down and start making it work one piece at the time. So you may imagine my days were relatively boring and I did not any real challenge since the real player analyses. I wanted something to do, something new and exciting but as the old saying says you don’t change the wining horse. I was getting hooked on the fame and the spotlight that the cloud player was bringing me. I needed to change something and fast. When I confronted my boss with the idea to do a new media player he started laughing as he seed to me that the well of cloud player still is not dry and no new projects will be done till it does. He even said that all my efforts are to be utilized into fixing and patching the cloud player and that if I don’t comply I was running the sack mile. I was shocked that the company that I made famous is putting me in the situation best described as between the rock and a hard place. But one phone call changed everything. One night as I was watching television in my apartment I heard my phone ringing. A pleasant
voice presented itself as one of the senior developers of real player. I was surprised that the competition was calling me but still I wanted to hear what they had to say. What came next was something that never expected in my wildest dreams. They offered me a job in developing the new and improved real player and my position was one of the leading developers. I was stunned and of course I wanted to accept the job since the pay was almost double of what I was making at the moment. But the most importantly I was offered a chance to work at a new project with all the liberties that it brings. Their only request was that I transfer in the next few days. I accepted of course and told them that I will be arriving sometime next week. Again that rush of adrenalin was flowing through my body as again I was offered the chance to make my mark on the software world. Life was good.
